Paulownia Timber is a real sustainable alternative to oak, cedar, maple, poplar, teak, walnut, mahogany, ash, pine, spruce, beech, Douglas fir

Paulownia Panel Samples

Paulownia is light and extremely strong, Paulownia stains and paints well. When stained, Paulownia appears similar to oak and at a fraction of the cost in certain applications Paulownia is preferred to oak.

Paulownia has a fine grain structure and a smooth surface, without blemishes (knots). Paulownia is water resistant, is exceptionally stable, and does not warp, break or deforms.

A feature of Paulownia is its ease of working and low weight, elasticity and strength, making Paulownia the preferred choice of timber in various industries such as shipbuilding, aviation, furniture, kitchen cabinets, surfboards, motorhomes, caravans etc...

The Paulownia panel thicknesses we stock are:
5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, & 25mm

The Paulownia panel sizes we stock are:
600mm x 2400mm & 1200mm x 2400mm

Paulownia Timber Samples

Paulownia timber density of around 260 kg/m3 varies between the different species and local conditions, but all of them formed extremely light strong timber.

The correlation strength-weight in comparison with other timber species is high. The low weight, elasticity and a modulus of rupture provides it with distinct advantages in certain applications.

The shrinkage co-efficient of paulownia is very low in volume, giving dried Paulownia wood a high level of dimensional stability.

Paulownia wood used for out of ground uses should be treated with at least two coats of water repellent sealant.

Paulownia is highly resistant to attacks from termites, insects, pests and rot and is found to be ideal for use in areas where these are a problem.

Planed Paulownia timber lengths we stock:
- 20 x 44 x 2400mm
- 20 x 70 x 2400mm
- 20 x 95 x 2400mm

We offer a cut to size service.

DISCLAIMER The fire safety demands on suspended ceilings will depend on both the type of room and the building where they are to be installed. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check prior to installation the national building regulations to ensure that the ceiling tiles purchased do comply with all fire rating requirements. There are at least two requirements that should be  regarded as "compulsory" in all premises for suspended ceilings as regards to fire safety:

1. Suspended ceilings must only make a negligible contribution to the fire development and to the production of smoke. This is fulfilled by using a ceiling consisting of materials and surface linings complying with at least Euroclass B-s1, d0.

2. Suspended ceilings must not break and collapse during the early stages of the fire when the  evacuation and rescue operations can still be carried out. To pass this requirement a ceiling system should be able to withstand a heat exposure of approximately 300°Celsius.
